All four cottages are unique and different. If you are looking for an individual style in a 17th Century setting, you will find something to suit your needs in one of our properties.
They are also a great venue for larger groups (we can accommodate up to 10 guests), as each family/couple has their own personal space, but can use the large open plan living area of The Barn (our largest cottage) as a comfortable place to congregate. The cottages comprise:
If you have a special celebration during your visit, do let us know and we will do our best to make it an extra special stay! see our Extras page.
We are very happy for you to bring up to 2 well behaved dogs in Helm or Herdwick cottages and up to 3 in The Barn and Hawthorn(providing you accept our terms) - for more information, see our Dog-friendly cottages page.
PLEASE INFORM US WHEN BOOKING IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND(S) !
All the cottages have ultra-fast giga-byte speed broadband connections, so you will still be able to stay in touch with the digital world. However, if you want to switch off from the hubbub of modern life and enjoy the local environment and scenery, we do have books and games to keep you entertained (and TVs). All our cottages have fully equipped kitchens as well as the larger three having wood-burning stoves for those cosy nights in and washing machines to freshen up those muddy clothes after your adventures exploring the countryside ! (Herdwick Cottage unfortunately doesn't have a stove or washer).
If you are travelling with young guests, we have a travel cot and a high chair available on request (please arrange when booking, in case other guests have already reserved them.)
Electricity, bedding, and towels are included in the tariff as well as a basket of logs to get you started with the wood-burner (if staying in Helm, Hawthorn or The Barn).
If you have any particular requests for your stay, don't hesitate to ask and we will do our best to help !

"Karen and Paul are mines of information and so very kind. I can't recommend highly enough. I feel like a guest that happens to have paid, rather than a customer. You'd never know another dog had been here – not one hair!"

"We had a fantastic stay. The best part was you - the hosts. You were super welcoming and went above and beyond to enrich our stay. The hamper and treats were a wonderful surprise.
