Dog friendly cottage Cumbria

We are very happy to welcome well-behaved dogs at Church Court Cottages.

Gamblesby is a great location to bring your four-legged friend. There are many available walks in and around the village where dogs are able to run off-lead and use up some of that boundless energy (just remember to pack your wellies)!

Dogs need to be kept on leads along the main roads and care must be taken around livestock - especially with sheep at lambing time.

Within the cottages, please remember that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms and we would kindly request that you do not allow them on the furniture.

Please Note - Any damage caused that requires repair/replacement, or extra cleaning; the costs incurred will be taken from guests' refundable deposit.

If necessary, we can provide any of the following items for your dog's stay (just let us know your requirements when you book your holiday)…

  • Dog bed and cover
  • Food and water bowls
  • Dog treat

Please note: We are happy to provide a "Dog Poo Wormery" on site for our canine visitors, and ensure guests have a supply of our special bio-degradable poo-bags that have to be used in the wormery!

Don't worry if you have forgotten anything - for a small charge we can provide collars, leads, dog biscuits, dog meat and extra poo-bags if necessary, for use during your stay.

Dog-sitting Service

If you would like to take advantage of our dog-sitting service to enjoy a quiet evening meal out, please ask for details. Unfortunately, we are not able to look after your dog for a whole day due to our own commitments.

The charges are £7.50 per hour (please book at least 24 hours in advance).

Under NO circumstances can dogs be left alone in the cottages. This is stressful for the dog in a strange place and often results in damage/scratched doors and furniture etc. If this happens, there will be a cost incurred of £10 per hour for dog-sitting, and any damage caused will result in costs being taken from the refundable deposit.
